Escamis toyed with another triple-double performance before winding up with 20 points, nine boards, seven assists and four steals as the Cardinals claimed the top spot with a 6-1 mark and unseated the Pirates, who sputtered to their second loss in a row and into No. 2 with a 6-2 slate.It wasn’t just the eye-popping numbers.
Cortez drilled the crucial layup with 36.5 seconds remaining and knocked down two charities before Petro Alfaro aided him with two triples to secure their bounce back win for the Red Lions. Cortez finished with 24 points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists while Alfaro scattered eight of his 12 points in the fourth period.
