About 11,000 people in Midland County, Michigan, are evacuating from their homes as the Tittabawassee River continues to rise.
About 10,000 people in the city of Midland were evacuating on Wednesday, and an additional 950 in other Midland County townships and villages were leaving their homes, according to the city's government. Officials anticipated it would take several days before it was safe for people to return, and evacuated residents were told not to go back home until they were advised it was safe. After cresting,"significant flooding" was expected to continue in the city, and northeastern Midland County is set to remain under a flood warning until Thursday morning.
