The Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) on Friday, called for the reinstatement of two Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA)
officials dismissed by the Ombudsman from service for alleged mismanagement and pledged its support to Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, who appointed the expelled executives.
Other business organizations led by the Manila Business Club have also shown their support to the dismissed MIAA officials. The reassignment, based on the account of the accused, was supported by favorable endorsement from their direct superiors or supervisors. The Ombudsman said the acts of the dismissed airport officials constituted “an abuse of discretion” and were “prejudicial to the service”.
MAP said the two MIAA executives’ dismissal becomes even more paradoxical in light of their commendable records of service.
