Don’t miss the opportunity to hear from these remarkable women who have paved the way for LGBTQ+ representation in the political arena.President Pro Tem Toni Atkins: Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins represents the 39th Senate District, which includes San Diego, Coronado, Del Mar, and Solana Beach, and parts of unincorporated Rancho Santa Fe. Atkins was born and raised in rural southwestern Virginia, the daughter of a miner and a seamstress.
Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn Wysinger: Carolyn Wysinger was elected to the El Cerrito City Council in 2022 and currently serves as Mayor Pro-Tem. She is an Equality California, Victory Institute and Emerge California alumuna. On the local level she also serves as the Executive Vice President of the El Cerrito Democratic Club. As a delegate to the California Democratic Party she is a member of the Executive Board of the Women’s Caucus and the standing Platform Committee.
