Manmohan Singh sahabat sejati, pemacu ekonomi India - Anwar
PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim menzahirkan kesedihan atas pemergian bekas Perdana Menteri India, Dr. Manmohan Singh yang disifatkan sebagai seorang sahabat sejati dan tokoh reformasi ekonomi bertaraf dunia.
Anwar berkata, mereka turut berkongsi komitmen yang sama dalam memerangi rasuah dan pernah bekerjasama membongkar kes rasuah yang besar ketika itu. “Sewaktu saya dipenjara, beliau menunjukkan kebaikan hati yang luar biasa. Ia sesuatu yang tidak perlu dilakukannya, tidak memberi keuntungan politik dan mungkin juga tidak dihargai oleh kerajaan Malaysia ketika itu.Sementara itu, Anwar berkata, Dr. Manmohan juga telah menawarkan biasiswa kepada anak-anaknya terutama anak lelaki beliau, iaitu Ihsan, sebagai tanda sokongan.
