Investigations are underway into a suspected gang-related shooting in the affluent Sydney suburb of Kirribilli from this evening.
Police responded to “multiple reports” of shots fired just after 4pm, arriving at an Upper Pitt Street address to find man with leg injuries.
The victim, who is believed to be aged in his 30s, was discovered with a minor wound but officers were unable to confirm whether it was caused by a gunshot. Residents in the area narrated accounts of having seen an armed man when the shooting unfolded and an SUV fleeing away on McBurney Lane. “I heard a neighbour ask what was going on, and I heard them say, ‘there’s a man with a gun run away’,” another said.
