PETALING JAYA: Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik should not have picked the example of requiring Mandarin proficiency when applying for a job as this was what certain jobs require and is unrelated t

o the ethnicity of the applicant, says MCA.

Ti said if there were any inadequacies or disadvantages among Malaysian graduates in the job market, then the minister should suggest remedies to better equip students.Ti alleged that Dr Maszlee was"still stuck in the old mindset of race and is a disappointment to the expectations of educational reform in a new Malaysia".

"Learn English, communicative or commercial Chinese language or others, besides safeguarding the position of Bahasa Malaysia to ensure the progress of our beloved nation," he said.
