Man charged over threats 'to kill NYPD cops' during wild crime spree
A troubled Long Island man threatened online to “kill every NYPD officer” before embarking on a bizarre crime spree that only ended when he allegedly attacked a cop in Westchester County, law-enforcement sources told The Post.
“I will kill every NYPD officer,” Apawu allegedly posted on Twitter, tagging Sewell’s official Twitter account. “Retweet’s PCs twitter [sic] where you at, you don’t believe me.” NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell and city cops were allegedly threatened on social media by Nassau County resident Michael Apawu, sources said.Hours later, Apawu’s car was spotted near City Hall and NYPD headquarters in Lower Manhattan, putting police on further alert, sources said.
He was released to NYPD cops in Manhattan, where he was charged with aggravated harassment for the threatening tweets. received a desk-appearance ticket and then freed without a court appearance.
