This report is based on interviews with the family and local authorities. They docked the boat near North Sandy Pond to spend some time on the beach and let the kids play in the water, Gabriel said.
“I don’t know how to describe it,” she said. “It’s like somebody’s pulling you out but no one’s there. There’s a massive current.”Gabriel said the family wasn’t that far out but they believed “Thank God she saw them and she reacted or we probably would have lost them all,” Gabriel said. “The lady said, ‘the current is so bad through there sometimes. I do not know how any of them survived.’”
