Mohamed Hassan was arrested as part of a drug trafficking investigation. He is wanted in Toronto in connection with a 2021 fatal shooting.
Mohamed Hassan, 22, was arrested on Sept. 22 at approximately 3:30 p.m., Prince Albert police said in a release. Further investigation led to officers locating loaded handgun, ammunition, just over 120 grams of cocaine, crack cocaine, two cellphones and more than $12,000 in cash. Police say Hassan is facing drug and weapons charges including unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of the proceeds of crime, possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon and obstruction of a peace officer. He made his first appearance in Prince Albert provincial court on Monday morning.Article content
Arrangements are being made to transport Hassan to Toronto on the outstanding warrant. He is wanted by the Toronto Police Service in connection with an April 2021 shooting that left one man dead. In July, the TPS offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
