Man tries to give his child away to neighbors: Avon blotter

Police responded to a call at 12:02 p.m. July 30 about a man driving erratically through a neighborhood and trying to give his child to residents.

The man was taken to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and the juvenile was placed in the custody of a relative, reports stated.Police were called to a restaurant at 7:52 p.m. July 29 about a man found slumped over on the floor. Officers determined that the man had overdosed.Police responded to Meijer at 9:34 p.m. Aug. 3 regarding a theft.Upon arrival, officers identified and arrested the suspect.
