A man has been Tasered and arrested in Melbourne CBD after he allegedly threatened people while wielding a pair of scissors.

The man allegedly made threats before he was tasered.One person, James Bath, told 9News there were a number of police on scene.

"They had mace ready and some Tasers and firearms drawn on him. He was issuing threats to the cops the whole time and then when he stood up and made them move forward, that's when they Tasered him," Bath said.Police said the 25-year-old Wangaratta man was assisting with their enquiries.
