KOTA KINABALU: A 35-year-old man suffered burns on his back during a fire that broke out at Kampung Tanjung Pasir Labuan in Kota Belud on Tuesday (Jan 24).

Razmi Sirun received preliminary treatment on site by emergency medical responders before being sent to the hospital for further treatment, said the Fire and Rescue Department.“The blaze completely destroyed the 50 by 30 feet non-permanent house structure.In a separate case in Kota Kinabalu, the department received a call alerting that a 63-year-old woman was atop a single-storey hotel.

The alert was received at 4.45pm, however, when the team reached the location, the victim had been brought to safety by the public.
