A 40-year-old man was shot dead while eating at a restaurant in Johor Baru , Malaysia . The incident occurred at around 12pm on Wednesday (Jan 8) at Jalan Setia 3/2, Taman Setia Indah. Authorities were alerted through the MERS 999 emergency hotline. Preliminary investigations revealed the victim was pronounced dead by the medical team from Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI). The police are actively investigating to identify those involved, locate witnesses, and determine the exact cause.
The victim was eating with friends at the time of the shooting, and police are checking CCTV footage from nearby premises. When asked about the number of shots fired, police said the matter is still under investigation and the post-mortem report is expected on Thursday (Jan 9). Authorities urged the public not to share the video on social media to avoid speculation and misunderstandings.
