Attempted robbery leads to gunfire, 1 man hospitalized, police say
Houston Police Department officers responded to a shooting Monday night in a shopping center parking lot.Shots were exchanged Monday night in a shopping center parking lot after an attempted robbery, according to Houston Police Department officials.
The man had been walking through a parking lot at 111 Yale St. when a person in a white SUV approached him and demanded money, Lt. J.P. Horelica told On Scene reporters. The man who was robbed also had been armed with a handgun and the two began firing at each other, Horelica said. The man who said he had been robbed was shot three times during the shootout and he was taken to a hospital once authorities arrived at the scene around 9 p.m.Stolen license plates are on the rise in Houston, police say.
