The man is facing arson and aggravated arson charges.
On Saturday, officers from the Little Ferry police and fire departments responded to a 911 call shortly after 9:30 p.m. for a vehicle fire on Couchon Drive, the office said. When the first responders arrived, they were able to extinguish a 2008 Nissan Frontier that was ablaze at 16 Couchon Drive.
An investigation revealed that vehicle’s owner, 40-year-old Louis Molino, set the fire and he was arrested and charged Sunday with arson, aggravated arson and causing or risking widespread injury or damage in a residential area, officials said. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
No other details were released by the office including Molino’s motives for allegedly setting the fire.
