A 40-year-old man was attacked by a bear while monitoring his cattle in a palm oil plantation in Kampung Telembuh, Jerangau Sungai, Malaysia. The victim sustained severe injuries to his neck, arm, and leg and is currently receiving treatment at Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah.

A man sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a bear while resting under a tree in a palm oil plantation in Kampung Telembuh, Jerangau Sungai, yesterday. The incident occurred around 11 am, and Nik Azhar Daud, 40, from Kampung Nerang, suffered injuries to his neck, arm, and right leg. He is currently receiving treatment at Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah (HSNZ) in Kuala Terengganu.

His wife, Roshuhaida Mokhtar, 39, said that her husband left for the plantation at around 9 am to monitor their cattle and ensure they did not enter the East Coast Highway 2 (LPT2) area. She added that her husband told her that while he was resting under a tree, a bear suddenly charged at him, biting his neck. 'My husband tried to break free from the bear's grip, but it then bit his arm and leg. My husband took out a parang from his waist and stabbed the bear before it ran away,' she said today. Roshuhaida said her husband was taken to Hospital Hulu Terengganu and later transferred to HSNZ last night
