The Contra Costa County coroner’s jury delivered its verdict Friday.
RICHMOND – A 47-year-old San Francisco man’s death after being handcuffed by Richmond police last year was an accident, a Contra Costa County coroner’s jury found Friday.
An officer placed a knee on Gutzalenko’s lower back, which police said was proper procedure for putting handcuffs on a person who is prone. Police said Gutzalenko was down on his side and his breathing was not obstructed.
