A similar armed robbery occurred in Redwood City
FOSTER CITY — A man was robbed at gunpoint early Saturday morning in his Foster City home, according to authorities.
Foster City police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Apollo Lane at about 12:43 a.m., according to a police news release. The man who reported it said he went home and noticed a strange car parked in front of his neighbor’s garage with the headlights on. He described the car as a Japanese crossover-type SUV.
The man backed into his garage and parking his car, according to police. The suspect, described as a woman in her 30s to 50s, ran into the man’s garage and stopped the door from closing. She punched the driver’s side window repeatedly and demanded his wallet. She fired one shot from a semi-automatic style handgun with an extended magazine through the window when the man refused to give her his wallet, missing him.
A similar robbery occurred in Redwood City at about 12:15 a.m., authorities said. A woman wearing similar camo print clothing and committed armed robbery in a similar car. Police are still investigating leads and working on finding a connection between the Redwood City and Foster City robberies.
