A man who opened an emergency door mid-air on a flight earlier this week did so because he felt suffocated, South Korean police said.

Arriving at a local court for questioning over the weekend, the man said he was “very sorry to the kids” on the plane. An arrest warrant was issued for the man on Sunday, alleging he’d violated aviation security law. The charge carries a potential penalty of up to 10 years in prison. Officials previously said that none of the 194 passengers aboard the hour-long flight from Daegu to Jeju island was badly injured, although around a dozen were treated for minor injuries.
