A 33-year-old man with 10 previous criminal records was remanded for six days to assist in the investigation of a robbery case involving a 77-year-old man in Butterworth, Malaysia. A 33-year-old man was remanded for six days beginning today to assist in the investigation of a robbery case involving an elderly man on Jalan Raja Uda here yesterday. The remand order was issued by Magistrate Aini Adilah Muhammad Faizal at the Butterworth Magistrate's Court against the suspect to enable the police to conduct investigations under Section 392 of the Penal Code. Earlier, the suspect, who has 10 previous criminal records, arrived at the court compound around 10.
45 am wearing a lock-up uniform and accompanied by police officers. It is understood that the suspect, who was riding a Honda EX-5 motorcycle, robbed the victim's bag while the victim was walking towards their car on Jalan Raja Uda here, around 9 am yesterday. As a result of the incident, the 77-year-old victim suffered a loss of thousands of ringgit after the car keys, mobile phone, and other personal belongings in the bag were also stolen. It is also understood that the police managed to arrest the suspect on the same day at a housing area around Hujung Batu here.-UTUSA
