Police Lt. Col. Gil John Despi, Cadiz police chief, said a criminal complaint was filed on Wednesday, May 3, against Kier Franco of Barangay Caduha-an, the alleged assailant of Jupith Teruel, 22, also of Barangay Caduha-an.Despi said the victims and the suspect were attending a benefit dance during a barangay fiesta when a commotion ensued between them due to drunkenness.
Jupith suffered multiple stab wounds and was declared dead in a hospital, while his two relatives are still confined in separate hospitals, according to Despi. Despi said that Franco surrendered to the police, hours after the incident happened. He is now under police custody.
