A second driver was taken to Stanford Health Care with major injuries; Highway 92 is closed from I-280 to Skyline Boulevard.
SAN MATEO COUNTY – A man was killed in a head-on crash Friday afternoon on Highway 92 near Crystal Springs Reservoir, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported just before 4:30 p.m. west of Interstate 280. The CHP said a red 2017 Honda Accord was traveling eastbound on Highway 92 when it veered into the westbound lane and crashed head-on into a gray 2002 BMW. The driver of the BMW, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the Honda, a woman in her 20s, was taken to Stanford Health Care with major injuries, according to the CHP.
The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity once it has been confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
