The attack and shooting came after police were called to a robbery in progress at the business Thursday afternoon, according to authorities.
Keansburg Pharmacy on Main StreetPolice fatally shot a man who stabbed an officer Thursday in a confrontation at a Keansburg pharmacy, authorities said.
“Multiple officers fired their service weapons striking the man, who was pronounced deceased at the scene,” the Attorney General’s Office said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the wounded Keansburg officer this afternoon. The dangers of our work are constant,” the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association said on Twitter.
