MUAR: A 35-year-old man was killed while a woman in her 50s was found unconscious after a fire broke out at a room inside their house at Taman Sri Bakri 3 here.
Muar Fire and Rescue Department operation commander senior officer Mohd Jefri Jamal said that the body of Lim Liah Chin was found with 80% burns, on the second floor of the house after the fire was put out.
“The department received the call at about 1.03pm on Saturday and deployed 12 personnel from Muar and Pagoh with five fire vehicles including one fire tanker to the location. “The woman was found passed out inside the house with a minor injury and was later sent to the hospital. “No identification was found as the woman was unconscious, ” he said in a statement here on Saturday .
He added that the body that was found inside the 90% destroyed room was handed over to the police for further action.
