Tuaran: A man in his 30s sustained burns in a fire that destroyed nine houses in Kampung Tembiluk, Mengkabong, on Thursday.
District Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Senior Fire Superintendent Mohammad Nor Amit, said the emergency call was received at 2.41am.
Advertisement Mohammad Nor said 11 personnel were deployed to the scene, along with one fire engine and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services utility vehicle. “Upon arrival, the team found nine non-permanent houses ablaze. Eight of the houses were destroyed, while the remaining one was about 40 per cent damaged,” he said when contacted.

The operation ended at 6.59am. The cause of the fire and estimated losses are still under investigation, he said.
