MIRI: A 14-year-old boy was slashed by a man wielding a parang and an axe at Kampung Hilir in the Saratok District of Sarawak.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said in an update on Sunday that they received a call at about 5pm on Saturday on the matter.
It added that the boy sustained wounds to his body and limbs and had been rushed to the hospital by villagers and said that the Fire and Rescue team at the site had tried unsuccessfully to convince the man to surrender. Pictures taken showed the man holding the parang and axe and not allowing the firemen to ascend the ladder.
