A 38-year-old man was discovered with a knife lodged in his chest in the Sunset Park section Wednesday night, but police say they don’t know yet if it was a homicide or a suicide.

According to police, officers responded to a 911 call just before 10:45 p.m. and discovered a 38-year-old man lying at the corner of 5th Avenue and 60th Street. The victim had a knife lodged in his chest. He was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was pronounced dead.The man has not been named as of Thursday morning pending the notification of his family.
“It is unclear at this time if the aided male is a victim of a crime, or if the wound is self-inflicted,” the NYPD stated.The investigation into the death is ongoing. So far, no arrests have been made.
