A man is fighting for life after an alleged stabbing in Queensland this afternoon.

It is understood two men were initially arguing outside of a government housing building on Milford Street in Ipswich at 3.15pm.The injured man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

Police said the accused attacker left the scene before he was found a short time later at a nearby park.Police said the men were both aged 39 and known to each other.
