A 26-year-old man is in police custody.
The injured Nerang man was taken to hospital where he died 45 minutes later.
“Investigations led police to a Mermaid Beach address where they took a 26-year-old man into custody shortly after 2am,” police said.“Investigators would like to speak to any witnesses and anyone with relevant footage,” police said.
