The man dived into 4-foot water near Gladewater Lake in eastern Texas.

Witnesses told police that the 34-year-old man, whose identity has not been released, dived from the embankment into a pool of water less than 4 feet deep,Police said the shallow pool was located away from the main lake in an area where people swim. The area is surrounded by tall embankments, shallow water and a rocky bottom, police wrote onWitnesses pulled the man from the water and began to render aid, police said.
