A man died after crashing his three-wheeled roadster into a ditch in Montgomery County.

The wreck happened at 10:45 p.m. after the man had just left a friend's house on West near Watson Ranch Road on his Vanderhall Venice, according to Montgomery County Precinct 1.

He traveled just a few hundred yards before leaving the roadway at a high rate of speed. As the roadster traveled into the ditch it hit a culvert pipe causing it to flip and land on the driver. The front wheel was ripped off and ejected close to 100 yards. Montgomery Fire arrived first and found the man deceased, but the Department of Public Safety worked the crash. Montgomery County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack responded to the scene and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
