A Chicago man faces charges for allegedly threatening Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, the Illinois attorney general’s office announced Thursday.
Christopher J. Tatlock emailed Foxx on May 4 threatening to “shoot and hang her if she did not prosecute crime in Chicago,” the attorney general’s office said in a news release, citing information from the state’s attorney’s office.Investigators found a similar email sent to Lightfoot that also traced back to Tatlock, the release said.
Tatlock was charged with two counts of threatening a public official and two counts of a hate crime, Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s office said. In addition to having bond set at $5,000, Tatlock was ordered to submit to electric home monitoring and turn over any firearms in his possession. He is not to have contact with Lightfoot, Foxx or their families and is prohibited from using email, the release said.If convicted, the charges could carry up to 16 years in prison.
“There is no room in our society for hate and violence, and we must condemn such actions in the strongest terms possible,” Raoul said in the release. “My office will work to hold accountable anyone who threatens the physical safety of any resident of our state — regardless of the position they hold.”

It has held for more than two years to a widely doubted claim of a perfect record keeping out the virus that has spread to nearly every place in the world.
