An unemployed man today pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here to abetting a former managing director of Multi-Code Electronics Industries Bhd in defrauding the company of RM17.6 million in 2007. ― iStock picKUALA LUMPUR, May 9 — An unemployed man today pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here to abetting a former managing director of Multi-Code Electronics Industries Bhd in defrauding the company of RM17.6 million in 2007.
Wong was charged under Section 122C read together with Section 87A of the Securities Industries Act 1983 and may be liable to a fine of not less than RM1 million and a jail term of not exceeding 10 years on conviction. According to the SC, Wong was a flight risk and had previously absconded the country even when he had ongoing criminal charges against him in a separate case by the SC.
