A man has been charged after a horror crash that killed a woman in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of where a stolen Mercedes allegedly collided with a Nissan Micra travelling in the opposite direction on Windsor Road at Burnside on Friday morning.The driver of the Nissan, a 52-year-old Nambour woman, was trapped in the vehicle as bystanders attempted pull her from the wreckage.
Queensland Police Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Mansfield earlier said the man allegedly tried to use another car to escape but was blocked by members of the community. Queensland Police revealed the man had been charged with a string of offences relating to the fatal crash. Picture: QPS. “It’s an unbelievable job they’ve done. They’ve clearly seen a horrific incident and seen a male running from there and somewhat taken matters into their own hands, they’ve significantly assisted us in our investigations.”
