As he further explored the ship, he was enticed by how much this treasure-of-a-ship was beneath the “junk” of it all on board. One thing that caught Wilson’s eye regarding the five-level vessel was its staircases. After digging into the background of the ship, Wilson uncovered that the vessel’s history dates back to post-war Germany, where it had been built and constructed in 1955 by Blohm and Voss shipyard.
With careful consideration and not wanting to give up on the ship, Wilson finally bit the bullet and put together a restoration plan for the vessel. Without disclosing the amount he scored the ship for, Wilson was able to “work out a really good deal with the owner of the vessel.”
