PETALING JAYA: Investigations into a robbery at a laundry shop in Kota Damansara led to the arrest of a man with a police record with 16 offences including drugs.
"On June 25, around 8.15pm, a police team from Petaling Jaya police headquarters arrested the 33-year-old suspect at a condominium on Jalan Cecawi 6/19, Seksyen 6, Kota Damansara.
"Checks on the suspect showed a police record for drugs, snatch theft and house robbery. The suspect confessed to being involved with the robbery at the laundry shop in Kota Damansara and showed police his motorcycle which was used during the robbery," said Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal in a statement on Friday .
Items believed to have been used during the robbery were seized at the man's house in Taman Sri Medan. "The suspect has been remanded for seven days, and the case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code. Further investigations are underway to ascertain if the suspect is involved in other cases, especially under the jurisdiction of Petaling Jaya police headquarters," he added.
