The incident occurred in the 2700 block of Mimosa Park Drive in Richland Hills, located northeast of Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s OfficeA 53-year-old man was arrested Thursday following a two-hour standoff with authorities in northeast Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.
Shortly before 1:30 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrived at the 2700 block of Mimosa Park Drive to arrest Robert Byrd on an aggravated kidnapping charge, authorities said in a news release. Byrd refused to exit a home on the street and the county’s SWAT personnel was called to assist the deputies. A woman inside the home escaped the house without injury. The Richland Hills Police Department also responded to the incident.
Byrd surrendered to authorities shortly after 3:30 p.m., the release stated. He was booked into the Tarrant County Jail. The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident, and it did not share further information, including the relationship between the man arrested and the woman.. Hojun Choi covers breaking news.
