Man arrested after SWAT standoff in the Jamacha-Lomita neighborhood [Breaking]
A man with a warrant out for his arrest peacefully surrendered Tuesday after an hourslong law enforcement standoff at a home in the Jamacha-Lomita neighborhood, authorities said.
The U.S. Marshals Service tracked down the man, who was believed to be armed, at the residence on Royal Oak Drive near the Skyline Hills Community Park in the mid-afternoon, according to the San Diego Police Department. After the suspect ignored repeated orders to give himself up, agents notified San Diego police, which sent in a SWAT team and crisis negotiators.A standoff continued until about 5:30 p.m., when the man peacefully surrendered, San Diego police Lt. Adam Sharki said.
The man was being sought on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and committing some kind of “pretrial violation,” the lieutenant said.
