A 48-year-old man was arrested near Nambucca Heads on the NSW Mid North Coast on Friday, more than 300 kilometres from where police allege he stole a dog.

A man accused of stealing a blind dog from a home in south-east Queensland has been released on bail in New South Wales.Maximiliano Ricardo Cardozo, 48, has been charged with receiving stolen property outside the state

Police allege Mr Cardozo was in possession of the blind Australian Shepherd dog, a vehicle and two credit cards allegedly stolen 300 kilometres away from a Southport home.Mr Cardozo, 48, appeared in handcuffs in Port Macquarie Local Court on Monday. The court heard his sister sent a letter to the court on Saturday detailing that Mr Cardozo had mental health concerns.
