The Foreign Affairs Ministry has emphasised that the safety of Malaysians abroad remains a top priority in light of the current situation in Bangladesh.

“The ministry understands the concerns of Malaysians regarding the safety of their family members in Bangladesh. In addition to closely assessing the latest developments, the ministry and the High Commission of Malaysia in Dhaka are considering all available options, including evacuation if necessary.

The ministry and the High Commission urged all Malaysian students to stay in contact and cooperate with the High Commission. Malaysians are also advised to be cautious of individuals promising assistance with evacuations from Bangladesh and to verify any information by contacting the Operation Room.
