Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim stated that the percentage of foreign investor holdings in Malaysia's capital market remained at 19.4% as of January 2025. He explained that foreign investment in the national capital market has been stable at around 19% since 2023, with a slight increase to 19.7% at the end of 2024. Anwar emphasized that the slight decrease to 19.4% in January 2025 does not reflect a lack of confidence in the country's economy. He also mentioned that global equity research firms like Nomura Global Market Research, JP Morgan, and HSBC have upgraded their ratings for Malaysian publicly listed companies.
