: The Malaysian Media Council Bill is set to be tabled for its first reading during the current Dewan Rakyat session, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said.
“I am confident we can present it for first reading in Parliament in the coming weeks... Insya-Allah,” he told reporters after visiting and providing aid through the Tabung Kasih@HAWANA fund to two Hindu media veterans in conjunction with Deepavali in Batu Caves today. Before this, Fahmi, who is the spokesperson for the Unity Government, informed that the Communications Ministry had submitted the draft of the Malaysian Media Council Bill to the Attorney-General’s Chambers for final review.
