Malaysian journo amerhadiazmi in North Korean leader's relative murder documentary elated with newsemmys nomination
Kota Kinabalu: A Malaysian journalist who reported on the murder of the North Korean leader's estranged half-brother in Kuala Lumpur is elated that a documentary in which he starred in has been nominated for an Emmy Award. Hadi Azmi on Friday tweeted that the documentary has been nominated for Outstanding Investigative Documentary at the 2022 News and Documentary Emmy Awards.
" However, this time around I hope Siti Aisyah and Doan Thi Huong get a chance to present themselves to the world, as free and vindicated individuals who were victimised in a geopolitical chess game that is beyond their wildest imagination," Hadi said. "They lived through the real fear of ending up hanged in a foreign country.
