Gamuda secures RM1.71bil data centre contract in Port Dickson, Nestcon wins RM243mil serviced apartment project in Penang, Heineken Malaysia Q2 net profit falls to RM50.5mil, Frontken Q2 profit rises to RM47.72mil, Kelington invests RM120mil in India plant, and other contract awards including Alam Maritim ROV acquisition, Destini tubular services, SCIB school reconstruction, and CPE Technology investment.
Gamuda has secured a RM1.71bil contract from a US multinational technology company to build a single-storey hyperscale data centre in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. The project is set to begin in the third quarter of 2026 and is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2028.
Nestcon has secured a RM243mil contract to build a 57-storey serviced apartment project in George Town, Penang, with construction scheduled to begin in January 2027. Heineken Malaysia's second-quarter net profit fell to RM50.5mil, or 16.73 sen per share, while revenue declined to RM434.7mil amid softer consumer demand and inventory normalisation. For the first half, the brewer posted a net profit of RM155mil, or 51.30 sen per share, on revenue of RM1.1bil.
Alam Maritim's indirect unit will acquire a US$3.24mil remotely operated vehicle to strengthen its subsea engineering business and expand its in-house ROV fleet. Frontken's second-quarter net profit rose to RM47.72mil from RM33.49mil a year earlier, while revenue increased to RM186.91mil from RM156.43mil. For the first half, Frontken's net profit climbed nearly 40% to RM90.08mil on revenue of RM376.72mil, driven by stronger semiconductor demand and higher contributions from its Malaysian and Taiwan operations.
Kelington will invest RM120mil to build a merchant air separation unit plant in Maharashtra, India, with the facility targeted for completion by the third quarter of 2028. Destini has secured a contract from Searah Sdn Bhd to provide tubular running services for the latter's West region operations until March 29, 2031. The contract value will be determined based on release orders issued throughout the contract period.
SCIB has secured a RM24.59mil EPCC subcontract for the reconstruction of Sekolah Kebangsaan Kaingaran in Tambunan, Sabah. The project is scheduled to commence on Aug 10, 2026, and is expected to be completed by Jan 22, 2029. CPE Technology will invest RM31.02mil to acquire new machinery and a freehold industrial property in Johor to expand its manufacturing capacity and improve operational efficiency.
