Malaysian climber expresses grief over Everest mishaps
Malaysian Everest climber T. Ravichandran hopes Muhammad Hawari Hashim, who went missing on the mountain recently, is found soon. – Facebook pic, May 21, 2023.
“This year is the second time we met in the mission to conquer Mount Everest. This time I was in front of them and I also faced tough challenges of extreme weather in my descent from Mount Everest,” he told reporters at Kuala Lumpur International Airport today, upon return from the 2023 Himalayan Sports Everest-Lhotse Expedition.
Hawari was in the same group of Everest climbers as Awang Askandar, who is also Kedah Civil Defence Force director, in the Malaysian Everest 2023 mission. Ravichandran prayed for Hawari to be found, even though the search mission is facing challenges due to the weather.
