Putrajaya Malaysia tidak akan berganjak dengan pendiriannya terhadap golongan lesbian, gay, biseksual dan transgender (LGBT).

Timbalan Menteri Luar, Datuk Marzuki Yahya menegaskan demikian berhubung kenyataan pelakon Hollywood, George Clooney yang dikatakan memberi amaran kepada Malaysia dan Indonesia berhubung pelaksanaan undang-undang anti-LGBT seperti Brunei.

Mac lalu, Clooney dilaporkan menggesa tindakan boikot terhadap sembilan hotel milik Sultan Brunei kerana membantah keputusan negara itu untuk melaksanakan hukuman sebat atau rejam hingga mati kepada golongan gay dan pesalah zina. Sementara itu, ditanya sama ada Malaysia menyokong hukuman penalti rejam sampai mati di bawah undang-undang anti-LGBT, Marzuki berkata: “Tidak.”
