The Malaysian government will support the rebuilding of Gaza by constructing a hospital, mosque, and school. Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced the initiative, emphasizing it as a collaborative effort between Malaysians, the government, and private sectors. He also highlighted the cooperation with the Japanese government in establishing a fund for Gaza's recovery through the East Asia program. Anwar stressed the urgency of a recovery plan following the ceasefire after the conflict claimed over 46,000 lives and displaced over two million Palestinians.
The matter was personally announced by the Prime Minister himself – Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim who called it an effort to rebuild Gaza in a collaboration between Malaysians, the government, and some private sectors.
PMX also said that the Gaza reconstruction effort also involves cooperation between the Japanese and Malaysian governments, which intend to establish and launch a fund through the East Asia program. He said a large amount was needed because facilities such as mosques, schools, hospitals, and houses had been destroyed.
