PUTRAJAYA: Kerajaan Malaysia kini sedang meneliti semua langkah sedia ada untuk menentang lapan orang penuntut yang mendakwa mereka adalah waris Kesultanan Sulu.
“Tindakan undang-undang yang diambil oleh penuntut sehingga kini, terutama timbang tara komersial yang dijalankan, adalah tidak wajar dari segi perundangan, malah mencabar kedaulatan negara secara langsung. Jelas Sekretariat Khas Sulu lagi, Kerajaan Malaysia juga ingin menegaskan bahawa Perjanjian 1878 yang dijadikan asas untuk timbang tara yang dijalankan di Sepanyol dan Perancis tidak mempunyai sebarang klausa timbang tara dan bukan sebuah kontrak komersil.
