Malaysia's ambitions for the 2025 SEA Games and the operational framework for the Non-Work-Related Accident Scheme (SKBBK) are slated to be among the key discussions in today's Dewan Rakyat sitting. The Order Paper reveals that Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden (PN-Alor Setar) intends to query the Minister of Youth and Sports regarding Malaysia's specific goals for the 2025 SEA Games and the ministry's preparedness level in light of Thailand's decision as the host nation to revise the event format.
This revision includes the addition of 15 new events and the elimination of 10 existing ones.Similarly, Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong (BN-Ayer Hitam) will seek clarification from the Minister of Human Resources on the implementation mechanisms of SKBBK, aiming to safeguard individuals affected by accidents unrelated to their work. His inquiry also delves into the scheme's capacity to address challenges arising from both work-related and non-work-related risks, considering the rising trend of flexible work arrangements adopted by employers in Malaysia.Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee (PN-Beluran) will question the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security on the comprehensive reform strategies designed to shield the reputation and integrity of the National Farmers Organisation (NAFAS) while restoring the confidence of its members. His query further explores the ministry's plans to bolster NAFAS' management and operations. Meanwhile, Kamal Ashaari (PN-Kuala Krau) will inquire about the success of the Orang Asli Human Capital Development Programme under the Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) in elevating the socio-economic standing of the Orang Asli community. He will also seek information on the ministry's potential initiatives to cultivate more entrepreneurs from the Orang Asli population through the Rural Entrepreneur Digitalisation Programme, alongside skills training and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
